I agree... as with most holidays (Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, Veteran's Day, etc.) the sentiment shouldn't be expressed or remembered just on that day alone and forgotten the remaining 364 days of the year. Even birthdays and anniversaries could be celebrated year long by celebrating each other rather than letting little annoyances or life's messiness get in the way of seeing the true value in our loved ones. But as a busy working person, mom, wife, and friend, I will be the first to admit that what I should do and what I do do are not always in agreement with each other, so having a special day helps me to at least slow down and take some time out and remember those in my life who have helped me, loved me, and otherwise carried me when I wasn't even able to crawl.

Thanks for the comment, Doctor Crankenstein!

I personally think valentines day is ridiculous. People shouldn't need a special day set aside to let their partner know how much they love them. They should let them know, and celebrate their love every single day.
